Thousands of young graduates from the Saylani Welfare International Trust’s IT training program have pledged to remit their earnings from abroad to Pakistan to contribute to debt repayment.
The pledge was made at the first reunion of the graduates, held at Mohatta Palace in Karachi. Prominent businessman Muhammad Ali Tabba was the chief guest.
Tabba emphasized the importance of preparing IT professionals to address Pakistan’s economic crisis. The State Bank of Pakistan’s Deputy Governor, Saleemullah, expressed support for the campaign to increase software exports from $3.2 billion to make it the top foreign exchange-earning sector.
Faysal Bank CEO and President, Yousuf Husain, highlighted the continued need for IT professionals in Pakistani banks. Arif Habib, a prominent businessman, reiterated the corporate sector’s support for Saylani’s efforts.
The Turkish Consul General, Cemal Sangu, stated that Turkey’s doors are open for Pakistani youth and highlighted the role of Saylani’s IT program in facilitating this.
