Lahore Tax Bar Association is organizing a seminar focused on practical training for online filing of income tax returns for tax year 2026 through the IRIS system, including guidance on the Asaan Small Traders Fixed Tax Scheme. The session is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Tax House, Lahore Tax Bar Association, Lahore.
The seminar will be conducted by the Practical Training and Advisory on Legal cell of the association, which will focus on hands on practical filing, demonstrate the online filing process, and provide guidance related to Iris portal features and tax return forms. The session is intended to help tax practitioners and members navigate the digital filing system more efficiently, particularly as the Asaan Small Traders Fixed Tax Scheme introduces a separate filing structure for small traders that participants will need to understand alongside standard return filing procedures. Two speakers have been confirmed for the session, including Attiya Ali Khan, Director at Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited, and Ahmad Shakeel Babar, Tax Domain Specialist at Federal Board of Revenue, both of whom bring direct expertise in the technical and regulatory aspects of the online tax filing system.
Sessions of this nature are typically organized to help tax bar members and practicing professionals stay current with updates to Pakistan’s digital tax infrastructure, particularly as the Federal Board of Revenue continues to refine and expand its online filing systems. With Iris serving as the primary portal for income tax return submissions, practical training sessions led by officials familiar with the system’s technical details can help reduce filing errors and improve overall compliance among tax practitioners representing individual and business clients.
The Lahore Tax Bar Association has indicated that light refreshments will be provided during the seminar, and has encouraged members to attend and participate actively in the session. The initiative reflects a continued pattern of professional development activities organized by tax bar associations across Pakistan, aimed at keeping practitioners updated on regulatory and procedural changes tied to the country’s evolving digital tax administration systems.
