Daraz Pakistan has entered the digital healthcare market with the launch of a licensed e-pharmacy, allowing customers to purchase authentic over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products through its online platform. The new service currently offers more than 450 products from over 20 pharmaceutical and healthcare brands, giving customers access to a range of medicines, vitamins, supplements and other healthcare essentials through the Daraz application. The product selection includes items from established companies such as Haleon, Getz Pharma, Abbott, AGP, Nature’s Bounty, Route2Health and Searle. According to the information shared by The Boardroom Pakistan, the products available through the service include Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan registered over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products sourced through authorised channels. The launch adds healthcare products to Daraz existing e-commerce offering and introduces a dedicated online channel through which customers can purchase selected healthcare items. Customers in cities covered by the platform can place orders through the Daraz app, with deliveries expected within one to three days depending on location and fulfillment arrangements.

The e-pharmacy service has been introduced with a focus on product authenticity, authorised sourcing and responsible fulfilment. Daraz has also signed memorandums of understanding with 10 pharmaceutical partners covering areas including medicine authenticity, digital access and fulfilment practices. The agreements are intended to support the platform as it expands its healthcare offering and works with pharmaceutical companies to make products available through an online retail environment. The presence of DRAP registered over-the-counter medicines means the platform is initially focused on products that can be sold without a prescription, alongside vitamins, supplements and other healthcare essentials. The involvement of pharmaceutical and healthcare brands also provides customers with access to products from recognised companies through a central online marketplace. For Daraz, the move extends its existing e-commerce infrastructure into a sector where product handling, sourcing and regulatory requirements are particularly important. The company will therefore need to maintain processes that support the authenticity of products and appropriate fulfilment as customers increasingly use digital platforms to purchase healthcare-related items.

The launch comes as online shopping continues to expand into specialised categories beyond conventional consumer goods, with healthcare representing another area where digital platforms can connect customers with products through online ordering and delivery. Daraz existing customer base and delivery network provide a foundation for offering healthcare products through its application, while the involvement of pharmaceutical companies allows the platform to build a product catalogue around established brands. The service currently covers more than 450 products, giving customers a range of options across over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements and healthcare essentials. Delivery within one to three days in cities served by the platform also provides an alternative to visiting a physical retail location for customers seeking eligible products. At the same time, digital healthcare requires particular attention to product authenticity, storage, handling and compliance, especially where pharmaceutical products are involved. The company partnership arrangements with 10 pharmaceutical businesses indicate that these areas are being incorporated into the expansion as Daraz develops its licensed e-pharmacy operations.

Daraz’s move into digital healthcare also places greater attention on how e-commerce platforms can operate within regulated sectors while providing customers with convenient access to products. The company will need to maintain appropriate sourcing and fulfilment processes as its healthcare catalogue develops, while pharmaceutical partners will remain important in ensuring that products supplied through the platform meet applicable requirements. The current offering is focused on DRAP registered over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements and other healthcare products, rather than presenting the platform as a replacement for conventional medical consultation or prescription services. The expansion gives pharmaceutical and healthcare brands another digital sales channel while allowing customers in supported cities to order eligible products through a familiar e-commerce application. As the service develops, factors including regulatory compliance, medicine authenticity, product handling, delivery standards and customer confidence will remain important to its operation. The launch represents a new category for Daraz Pakistan, combining its established online retail infrastructure with licensed pharmacy operations and partnerships across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.
