A six week AI bootcamp for O and A Level students has concluded at the Iqbal Executive Development Centre, held in partnership between atomcamp and IEDC at NUST’s H-12 campus in Islamabad. The programme took a cohort of students aged 13 to 18 from zero coding background to building and deploying their own AI agents, covering Python programming, work with large language models, and hands-on use of tools including LangChain, CrewAI and Docker over the course of the six weeks.
The bootcamp was designed to address a gap organizers identified in Pakistan’s standard education system, where coding, prompt engineering and AI agent development typically sit outside the formal curriculum, leaving many students without exposure to these skills until university, by which point international peers often have a two year head start. IEDC, which has spent years training corporate executives, opened its doors to teenagers for this programme, applying the same rigor of instruction and mentorship typically reserved for professional executive training to a younger cohort entering a workforce that will increasingly require these skills.
Throughout the six week programme, students moved from foundational coding concepts to practical, hands-on work with AI agents and large language models, building and shipping their own projects using industry standard tools. At the closing ceremony, parents in attendance emphasized that the value of the programme lay not just in students learning about AI conceptually, but in the fact that they were building with it directly, a distinction organizers highlighted as central to the bootcamp’s approach. Certificates were awarded to every graduate at the ceremony held on NUST’s H-12 campus, formally marking the completion of the programme.
The bootcamp adds to a broader pattern of Pakistani institutions and private training providers introducing structured, hands-on AI education for younger students, moving beyond theoretical coverage of artificial intelligence toward direct, applied skill building. For atomcamp and IEDC, the programme represents an extension of executive level training methodology into secondary education, positioning participating students with practical AI development experience ahead of their entry into university and, eventually, Pakistan’s broader technology workforce.
