PTML participated in the SEE Global Economic Entrepreneurship and Investment Readiness Forum, organized by U.S. Embassy Islamabad and Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan, engaging directly with the country’s broader innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The forum brought together a wide cross section of stakeholders working across startups, investment and academia, offering a platform for dialogue between the private sector, government affiliated institutions and international partners.
The event drew around 150 participants, including startup founders, investors and university leaders, alongside additional stakeholders representing the entrepreneurship, investment, academia and trade ecosystem. Discussions at the forum centered on a range of themes relevant to Pakistan’s growing startup landscape, including innovation, investment readiness, economic growth, access to global markets, venture growth opportunities tied to the United States, and cross-border collaboration between Pakistani entrepreneurs and international investors. The scale and composition of attendees reflected an effort to bring together multiple layers of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in a single setting, allowing founders and investors to engage directly with academic and institutional representatives shaping the broader environment for startups in the country.
PTML’s participation in the forum reflects continued engagement by the telecom sector with Pakistan’s wider innovation economy, as companies increasingly look to connect with entrepreneurial and investment communities beyond their core industry. Forums of this nature are often used to build relationships between established corporate players and early stage founders, while also creating space for conversations around how larger companies can support innovation through partnerships, mentorship or market access opportunities. The involvement of U.S. Embassy Islamabad in organizing the event also points to continued interest from international stakeholders in supporting Pakistan’s startup and investment ecosystem, particularly around pathways for Pakistani ventures to access U.S. markets and investment networks.
Representatives from PTML who took part in the forum included Hatem Bamatraf, Atif Raza, Areej Khan, Awais Vohra, Mudasser Shafiq, Khawaja Shehzad Ullah, Bilal Javed Bhatti, Shan Haq, Haider Latif Sandhu and Abdullah Hameed. Their participation adds to a broader pattern of engagement by Pakistan’s telecom and technology companies with events focused on entrepreneurship and investment readiness, as firms continue to position themselves within the country’s expanding innovation ecosystem while exploring opportunities for collaboration with startups, investors and academic institutions working toward similar economic development goals.
