Pakistan is gearing up to host Indus AI Week 2026, a landmark government-led initiative designed to foster national and international collaboration in artificial intelligence and related technologies. The week-long programme officially commences with the Indus AI Summit on 9 February 2026 at Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, bringing together policymakers, global AI experts, industry innovators, and young talent to deliberate on strategic AI adoption across sectors such as governance, education, industry, and public services. The event underscores Pakistan’s drive to build a coordinated national AI ecosystem that aligns policy frameworks with practical engagement and inclusive growth.

The Indus AI Summit serves as the flagship leadership forum for the week, offering a platform for evidence-based discussion and international engagement on AI strategy and policy. The gathering, expected to feature contributions from senior government officials, international academics, technology leaders and strategic thinkers, aims to chart a clear direction for AI development in Pakistan and beyond. Following the summit, the programme extends into the Innovation, Learning and Engagement Arena at the Islamabad Sports Complex on 9 and 10 February, where a wider public can participate in activities including skill trainings, certifications, interactive sessions, and industry showcases. These activities are designed for a broad audience including students, professionals, startups and innovators.

Alongside the summit and expo, the week features a diverse roster of engagement events. Attendees at the Sports Complex can explore the IT and Startups Expo, where Pakistan’s AI-focused startups and tech companies will showcase innovations, connect with investors and industry partners, and take part in workshops and pitch sessions. The expo offers structured booths, mentorship opportunities and direct access to potential collaborators, with sessions tailored to both early-stage founders and established innovators. Additionally, themed platforms such as AI for HER aim to elevate female participation in AI by spotlighting women-led startups, career pathways, and industry success stories. Complementary elements such as national e-sports competitions, hackathons, and sectoral tech demonstrations further enrich the programme and make AI more accessible to diverse audiences.

Beyond Islamabad, Indus AI Week will see approximately 50 aligned events held across universities, chambers, and ecosystem partners nationwide from 10 to 15 February, encouraging local engagement with AI through workshops, hackathons and community-level showcases. These activities are expected to galvanize public interest, cultivate talent, and connect learners and professionals with opportunities in the expanding AI landscape. By mobilizing a nationwide movement that spans policy, industry, academia and the public, the initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its digital ecosystem, nurturing innovation, and positioning itself as a regional leader in AI adoption and collaboration.
