Tech Valley has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Developments in Literacy (DIL), marking the start of a partnership aimed at nationwide capacity building in digital skills. As part of the agreement, Tech Valley has awarded 500 Google Career Certificate scholarships to DIL, providing access to industry recognized certifications intended to prepare Pakistan’s talent pool for high growth careers in global technology markets. The scholarships form the initial phase of the collaboration between the two organizations, which is focused on expanding access to job ready digital training for students and young professionals across the country.
The Google Career Certificates being made available through this partnership span 14 specializations and 83 courses, covering a range of high demand technical disciplines. These include data analytics, IT support and IT automation, project management, UX design, cybersecurity, digital marketing and e-commerce, along with newer additions such as AI and prompting essentials and an AI professionals certificate. The breadth of the curriculum reflects a broader shift in workforce training programs across Pakistan, which have increasingly incorporated artificial intelligence linked coursework alongside more established technical tracks as employers seek candidates with skills matched to evolving industry needs.
Tech Valley has been one of the more active organizations connecting Pakistani students and professionals with Google’s certification programs, having previously partnered with other institutions and government departments to distribute similar scholarships. Programs of this kind are typically designed to remove the financial and access barriers that have limited participation in structured digital skills training, particularly for individuals outside major urban centers. Developments in Literacy, as the receiving partner in this MoU, is expected to help extend the reach of the certificates to communities and student populations it already serves through its existing education programs.
Through the partnership, Tech Valley described its objective as building digital culture and scaling localized professional development to support what it called a future ready Pakistan. The initiative adds to a growing list of skills development programs launched in the country over the past year, as both private sector organizations and government departments have moved to expand access to globally recognized technology certifications. With global demand for specialized technical skills continuing to shift toward areas like artificial intelligence and data driven roles, initiatives connecting local talent with structured, employer recognized training pathways are likely to remain a recurring feature of Pakistan’s digital skills landscape in the months ahead.
