Garmin appears to have accidentally revealed the design of its long awaited Cirqa fitness tracker, offering the clearest look yet at a device that has been the subject of leaks and speculation for several months. The screenless wearable, seen as the company’s answer to the Fitbit Air and the Whoop band, was spotted within Garmin’s own Connect IQ application, complete with an image showing its appearance for the first time.
This latest sighting follows an earlier slip up in which the Cirqa was listed on an official Romanian support page. This time, the device surfaced in the setup menus of the Garmin Connect IQ app, where it appeared by name during a search and displayed a thumbnail image of the band. According to information shared by an anonymous source through Garmin News, the tracker will feature a screenless design closely resembling the Fitbit Air, confirming much of what industry watchers had already anticipated. The report should be treated with some caution since the image could not be independently reproduced by the outlet that first published it.
The design reportedly shows a key difference from its rival in that the module containing the sensors and battery is displayed openly, complete with a large Garmin logo, rather than being concealed beneath the strap, though alternate strap options could offer a hidden module in future. The module itself appears to be removable, allowing users to charge the device, clean the strap, or swap it out entirely. The strap is said to be constructed from silicone rubber or a similar material and includes two textured sections positioned on either side of the module, one of which carries the Garmin triangle emblem.
Speculation around the Cirqa’s release date and pricing has also intensified in recent days. The twenty second of July has been floated as a possible launch date, though this would coincide with Samsung’s Unpacked event, making the timing somewhat unusual for such a release. On pricing, earlier reports had suggested the Cirqa could cost close to five times more than the Fitbit Air, which retails at 84.99 pounds or 99 dollars. However, new information circulating on Reddit indicates a more competitive price point of around 179 pounds or 199 dollars may be more likely, which would position the device far more favorably against its established rival in the screenless fitness tracker segment.
