Ever since Uber arrived in Pakistan over two years ago, it has created thousands of economic opportunities and through its many services, Uber has been a key player in providing accessible and low-cost mobility solutions for multiple segments of the population.
Recently, Uber for the first time hosted its Uber Jahaan Expo in Pakistan for partner drivers and their families at the Expo Center, Lahore. The purpose of the event was to acknowledge the great work partner drivers have been doing in providing safe, reliable rides to people across Pakistan.
The Uber Expo is held annually in London, Cairo, and Nairobi and now in Pakistan after seeing a major success in the country. In order to enhance the experience of the attending, the following corporate and public partners such as Jubilee Insurance, Xiaomi, Pakwheels, Carfirst, Siwa, Zic Oil, Osaka Batteries, Honda Atlas, Servis Tyres, Bank Alfalah, TPL Trakker, Ecopower, Crown, Punjab Skills Development Fund, Motorway Police and Rescue 1122 were also taken on board.
The expo saw a number of activities including a special auto-show in collaboration with Pakwheels, food court, games section, and a kids play area for children. The partners at “Uber Jahaan” also offered multiple discounts on their products, vouchers, free giveaways, and various engagement activities.
Uber General Manager of Pakistan, Safee Shah speaking on the occasion said, “Our aim with this expo is to ensure that drivers get an experience beyond earnings, we shared the main highlights, and successes from the year. We figured the best way to do this was to engage them and their families at a forum where all could come together and enjoy a day of leisure and entertainment. I also express my gratitude to the partners from manufacturing to automobile industry, corporations and government for extending their support and making this event a success.”
Furthermore, the event also held a concert featuring Ibrar Ul Haq. Over 20,000 people attended the full-day expo.
