Tencent Games Central Tech made its debut as a unified brand at Gamescom 2026, presenting a portfolio of proprietary technologies covering content creation, gameplay experiences and long term live operations for game development. The showcase brought together six tools, including Motus, GIGA, MagicDawn, Anti-Cheat Expert, GVoice and WeTest, positioning the brand as a centralized technology suite supporting different stages of game production.

The centerpiece of the showcase was Motus, Tencent Games’ end to end AI pipeline for 3D character animation, built around the company’s proprietary generative animation foundation models. The tool connects several production stages that would traditionally require separate software, including character rigging, skinning, motion generation, motion refinement and real time character interaction. Motion can be generated from text prompts, videos or keyframes, with support for multi-character interactions covering combat, cooperative and social animations. The tool can also analyze character topology and generate a production ready skeleton within seconds, before creating skinning weights for muscles, clothing and other components, while its refinement tools can automatically identify and correct issues such as jitter, mesh penetration, joint anomalies and foot sliding.

Motus technical lead Zijiao Zeng discussed the pipeline during a session at Gamescom Dev on August 24, where visitors were also able to turn text prompts into 3D animations through an on-site demonstration. According to Tencent, Motus technologies have already been used across several of the company’s titles, including Game for Peace, PUBG Mobile, Delta Force, Honor of Kings, Roco Kingdom, League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.

Beyond Motus, the wider Central Tech lineup includes GIGA, which uses games and virtual worlds as training environments for general purpose AI agents focused on visual decision making and real time competitive behavior, and MagicDawn, which combines rendering technology with AI and cloud computing to improve performance, image quality and audio, with Roco Kingdom cited as an example of how the technology supported its transformation from a browser based title into a large scale open world game. Anti-Cheat Expert handles cheat prevention, client hardening and threat intelligence, GVoice provides low latency voice communication with AI noise reduction and real time translation, and WeTest Acorn AI Studio uses autonomous agents to play games and identify problems across different genres and platforms. Tencent said these technologies are moving beyond isolated demonstrations toward becoming reusable components of real development pipelines, while the company continues separate research into world models and real time interactive video for potential future use in games.
