Oppo has started rolling out its August update for ColorOS 16, bringing several new features to supported devices, including AI tools, stronger security features and new Home Screen options. The rollout continues the company’s ongoing expansion of ColorOS 16, which has steadily reached a growing number of Oppo devices since its global launch began in November last year.
The AI Remix Collage feature now includes Smart Cutout, letting users turn parts of images into stickers and build advanced collages, while also allowing users to manage different layers for more control over their creations. Security has also received attention in the latest update, with the Security and Phone Manager apps now able to detect suspicious activity, malicious popups and apps that may drain battery, alongside real time alerts whenever potential threats are detected.
The update also introduces a faster way to manage notification badges on the home screen, letting users clear all notification badges with a simple pinch out gesture. Oppo has additionally added new currency converter widgets in 2×2 and 4×2 sizes, showing real time exchange rates directly on the home screen. The Notes app has received a useful upgrade as well, allowing users to draw, highlight and add annotations directly onto images inside their notes.
The August ColorOS 16 update is rolling out to several Oppo devices, with supported models including the Find N5 and N6 foldables, the entire Find X9 series, and the Find X8 and X8 Pro. The Reno5 and Reno6 series are also eligible for the update, though availability may vary by device and region as Oppo continues expanding the rollout across its broader smartphone lineup.
