Mobiz, a Pakistani owned technology company based in Silicon Valley, has established its Pakistan regional office at National Aerospace Science and Technology Park in Karachi, expanding its presence in the country as Pakistan seeks to strengthen its position in the global technology and services sector. Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, welcomed the establishment of the office and said the move reflected confidence in the country’s technology talent. Mobiz provides cloud, data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity services across various countries, with the Karachi office set to serve as part of its regional operations.
Dr Sidhu said Pakistan’s young technology professionals had the potential to play an important role in the international information technology market. He noted that the expansion of global technology companies into Pakistan demonstrated growing confidence in the skills and capabilities of the country’s workforce. Pakistan, he added, had considerable potential to develop into a regional technology and global services hub, supported by its large pool of young professionals and the continued expansion of digital services. The establishment of a regional office by Mobiz adds to the presence of technology companies seeking to develop operations and access talent in Pakistan while serving customers in international markets.
Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan also highlighted the regulator’s work on improving transparency, digitalisation and regulatory reforms to facilitate business activity. He said the use of modern technology could help reduce the time and costs associated with business processes while improving transparency and operational efficiency. The development of digital infrastructure and technology based services has become an important part of efforts to create a more efficient business environment, particularly as companies increasingly rely on cloud computing, data services, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to manage their operations and serve customers.
Dr Sidhu further said investment by international technology companies could create employment opportunities and provide Pakistani professionals with greater access to international work. He congratulated Mobiz Global on the launch of its Karachi office and expressed hope for the company’s continued expansion in Pakistan. The new office at National Aerospace Science and Technology Park places the company within Karachi’s growing technology ecosystem and comes as public and private sector stakeholders continue efforts to attract investment, develop digital capabilities and increase Pakistan’s participation in international technology and services markets.
