PTA and NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL) have joined forces to simplify the identity verification process for telecom service providers in Pakistan. This collaboration is aimed at facilitating a smoother and quicker licensing procedure for new telecom operators entering the market.
Under the new arrangement, prospective telecom service providers will be required to undergo biometric verification at NADRA’s extensive network of e-Sahulat centers. The verified information will then be securely transmitted to PTA for further processing.
PTA Chairman Major General (Retd) Hafeez Ur Rehman expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that it will significantly enhance the ease of doing business in Pakistan’s telecom sector. He emphasized that the streamlined licensing process will create a more conducive environment for industry growth.
NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar assured the public of NTL’s commitment to providing reliable and efficient biometric verification services. He highlighted the company’s extensive network of e-Sahulat centers across the country, ensuring convenient access for applicants.
This collaborative effort between PTA and NADRA is expected to reduce processing times for telecom licenses, ultimately leading to a more efficient and transparent licensing process.
