For seamless ID checks, the kit includes a machine-readable passport reader and a barcode scanner. Additionally, it runs on the Android operating system and offers robust connectivity options, including 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Housed in a durable, IP65-rated rugged case, the kit is powered by a long-lasting 10,000mAh battery. This combination ensures reliable operation in various environments.
NADRA envisions a wide range of applications for the digital identity kit, including national ID programs, voter registration, border control, law enforcement activities, and customer service processes.
“We are excited to showcase this kit at the ID4D Africa Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, next week,” stated NADRA. “Soon, it will also be deployed in NADRA’s registration operations and available commercially.”
