In a major step towards enhancing digital convenience for residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has entered into a strategic partnership with 1LINK, Pakistan’s leading Bill Aggregator. This collaboration will enable citizens to make digital payments for public sector services across the province, marking a significant move toward greater digital empowerment and financial inclusion.

The agreement, in line with the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, seeks to provide a seamless, secure, and efficient way for the public to pay for government services without the need to visit physical counters. The new payment system will allow users to pay government service fees via various channels, including internet banking, mobile apps, ATMs, and agent networks. This ensures that transactions are processed instantly, offering greater convenience and reducing the need for in-person visits, which is a critical development in enhancing the accessibility of public services.

KPITB’s partnership with 1LINK is part of the provincial government’s broader strategy to digitally transform public sector services, making them more transparent, efficient, and accessible to citizens. With this move, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa joins the ranks of progressive regions across Pakistan that are embracing digital payments to modernize government operations and enhance service delivery.

The initiative aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision of building a digitally empowered Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that facilitates greater public access to services while promoting transparency in government transactions. By enabling digital payments for government services, KPITB aims to reduce bureaucracy and promote a more citizen-friendly approach to public sector service delivery.

1LINK’s extensive experience in digital payment aggregation, coupled with KPITB’s commitment to technology-driven governance, is expected to streamline the way government fees and charges are collected. The move is poised to simplify financial transactions for citizens, especially those in remote or underserved areas, by offering them multiple payment options through their smartphones or other digital platforms.

This partnership also brings Pakistan a step closer to achieving its digital financial inclusion goals. By providing citizens with easy access to digital payment channels, it encourages a shift from traditional cash-based transactions to more secure, traceable, and convenient payment methods. This initiative is expected to foster greater trust in digital financial services, while also enabling a more efficient and accountable government revenue collection system.

The agreement between KPITB and 1LINK is a clear indicator of the growing importance of digital transformation in the public sector, reflecting a broader trend towards smart governance and digital convenience across the country. As Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continues to integrate digital technologies into its operations, this partnership sets the stage for even greater advancements in government service delivery and public sector modernization.

This development is expected to benefit not only citizens by offering greater convenience and access to services, but also the provincial government by streamlining revenue collection and reducing the costs and inefficiencies associated with traditional payment methods. The future of public sector services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa looks promising, with more innovations likely to follow as the region continues its push toward a fully digital economy.
