Ministry of Information Technology has initiated plans to develop a comprehensive nationwide framework for Asaan Khidmat Centers, aiming to standardize one window government service centers across Pakistan and improve public access to essential services. According to sources, the initiative is designed to expand the existing Islamabad model to other parts of the country through a unified operational framework that promotes consistent service delivery, greater efficiency and improved accessibility. The proposed framework will establish common operating guidelines for Asaan Khidmat Centers, enabling citizens to access a broad range of government services through a single platform while supporting Government of Pakistan’s broader digital transformation and public service modernization objectives.

As part of the expansion strategy, Ministry of Information Technology has approved the extension of the Islamabad Asaan Khidmat Center into Block B, increasing the facility’s capacity to accommodate additional government departments and expand the range of services available to the public. The additional space is expected to improve operational efficiency and enable the center to serve a larger number of citizens each day. Alongside this expansion, the ministry is identifying vacant government buildings across Islamabad that can be renovated and converted into new one window service centers. Underutilized public properties will be repurposed to improve the availability of government services across different areas of the federal capital while making more efficient use of existing public infrastructure.

The ministry is also working in collaboration with the governments of Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to establish similar Asaan Khidmat Centers based on the Islamabad model. The objective is to introduce standardized citizen service facilities in additional regions while maintaining consistent operational procedures nationwide. According to sources, the nationwide framework is intended to improve the quality, efficiency and accessibility of public services by allowing citizens to complete multiple government related processes under one roof. The one window service model is expected to reduce processing times, simplify interactions with public institutions and improve the overall citizen experience by minimizing the need to visit multiple government offices for different services.

Islamabad Asaan Khidmat Center officially began operations on January 15, 2026, and currently offers more than 60 government services to the public. These include passport issuance, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) services, police related services, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) services and several other public sector facilities. Government plans also include onboarding additional departments in the near future, increasing the number of available services to more than 100. By expanding the Asaan Khidmat Center model across Pakistan, Ministry of Information Technology aims to strengthen digital governance, improve service delivery standards and support ongoing efforts to modernize public sector operations through integrated and citizen focused digital service platforms.
