The Government of Balochistan has taken a significant step towards empowering the youth with digital skills by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google.
This collaboration aims to provide 2000 additional scholarships and internship opportunities to students in the province, equipping them with the essential skills for online jobs in today’s digital age. Furthermore, Google will support the digitalization of the provincial information department.
The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of notable figures, including Balochistan Finance Minister Zamrik Khan Achakzai, Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Aqaili, Secretary Information Technology Tayyab Lahri, Information Secretary Muhammad Hamza Shafaqat, and Google Team Leader Umar Farooq.
Highlighting the significance of this partnership, the Chief Secretary of Balochistan emphasized Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo’s dedication to providing dignified employment opportunities for the youth. Google’s commitment to the region’s youth is evident as they had previously awarded 1000 scholarships, and now they extend their support with an additional 2000 scholarships, equally distributed among 1000 girls and 1000 boys.
The internship program is designed to offer participants international certification, boosting their chances of securing online jobs with potential earnings of up to $1,000 per month. This initiative builds upon Google’s earlier provision of 1000 scholarships to Balochistan’s youth in May, reinforcing their commitment to empower young individuals through digital education and employment opportunities. By offering such scholarships and internships, the Government of Balochistan and Google aim to foster a brighter future for the province’s youth in the digital era.
