Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) has announced a fall internship in Policy and Government Affairs, giving students a chance to see how the voice of the information technology (IT) industry reaches policymakers. Interns will join the Policy and Government Affairs team of P@SHA and experience the work firsthand. The association is looking for final semester students who want hands-on experience in technology policy and advocacy. The announcement opens with a question about how the industry communicates with policymakers, and the internship has been designed to answer it by placing students inside the team that carries out this work for the sector.
Selected interns will work on the issues that are shaping the digital future of Pakistan, ranging from data protection to artificial intelligence (AI) governance. Their tasks will include drafting policy briefs and supporting advocacy efforts, and they will also see up close how the industry engages with the government. This combination of writing, advocacy support and direct observation gives students a view of both the preparation of policy positions and the way that those positions are presented to officials. The topics named by the association show that the internship deals with current questions in technology regulation, rather than with general office work.
The internship will be held in person in Islamabad, and it will last for 8 to 12 weeks. Applications must be submitted by October 23, 2026. To apply, candidates must submit a policy memo of 500 to 700 words on one of the topics listed in the application form. The association has added a note that it wants to hear the own thinking of applicants, so submissions that are written by AI will not be accepted. Candidates should therefore prepare the memo themselves, and the word limit gives them a defined space in which to present an argument on the topic that they choose from the form.
For queries and registration, applicants can contact the association at careers@pasha.org.pk, and a QR code has been shared with the announcement for those who wish to apply. The post also acknowledged Tech Destination Pakistan, and it was shared with hashtags that include PASHA, InternshipOpportunity, ITIndustry and TechPolicy. For final semester students who are interested in policy and advocacy in the technology sector, the fall internship offers a place within the team of P@SHA, with a clear deadline and a written task that every applicant has to complete before applying.
