Jazz and Samsung Electronics have partnered to expand access to artificial intelligence features and 5G-enabled smartphones in Pakistan, with a focus on affordability, connectivity and everyday digital experiences. The collaboration aims to make advanced mobile technology accessible to more consumers through flexible installment plans, trade-in opportunities and access to Samsung’s Galaxy AI features. The announcement highlights the role of device affordability and reliable connectivity in increasing the use of AI-powered services, as telecom operators and smartphone manufacturers explore ways to broaden adoption of emerging technologies across the country.

Kazim Mujtaba, President of Jazz GSM, highlighted device affordability, reliable connectivity and ease of use as important factors in making artificial intelligence useful in everyday life. While AI features are increasingly available on modern smartphones, their adoption depends partly on whether consumers can afford compatible devices and access dependable mobile networks. Through the partnership, Jazz and Samsung aim to address these barriers by combining smartphone offerings with connectivity services and purchasing options. The collaboration is intended to help more users access advanced mobile capabilities without requiring them to pay the full device price upfront.

Flexible instalment plans and trade-in opportunities are among the measures highlighted in the announcement. These options could help consumers upgrade to compatible smartphones and access Galaxy AI tools, which support a range of on-device and cloud-based features depending on the model and service. The companies also identified potential digital payment opportunities through Samsung Wallet as part of the broader collaboration. However, specific details regarding eligible devices, instalment terms, trade-in valuations, payment-service availability and the rollout timeline were not disclosed in the announcement. The scope and availability of these offerings will therefore depend on further information from the companies.

The partnership comes as Jazz continues to expand its 5G network across Pakistan and seeks to connect more users with digital services. Wider access to compatible smartphones and mobile connectivity could support the use of AI-assisted communication, productivity and other digital applications. For Samsung, collaboration with a telecom operator provides a route to reach consumers through device and connectivity-related offerings, while Jazz can support the adoption of newer mobile technologies among its customers. The initiative reflects a broader industry focus on bringing AI-enabled devices and next-generation connectivity to a wider customer base, although its impact will depend on pricing, device availability, network coverage and the eventual implementation of the proposed offerings.
