Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT and ITeS (PASHA) has announced that it will take part in Oslo Innovation Week 2026, running from October 19 to 22 in Oslo, Norway. The association said it is going with the support of Tech Destination Pakistan, the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoITT), and the Embassy of Pakistan in Norway, and that the aim is to showcase Pakistan’s growing tech industry and connect with the global tech community. The announcement gave no details on how many companies are travelling, who is leading the delegation, or which sessions Pakistani participants will join, though its hashtags point to a tech delegation focused on business-to-business networking.
Oslo Innovation Week is an annual event in Europe that PASHA has described as drawing innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders from a range of sectors. In its call for last year’s delegation, which attended the 2025 edition from October 20 to 24, PASHA listed the activities as conferences, workshops, seminars, panel discussions, hackathons, networking sessions, and startup pitches. That earlier package gave participating companies a visa facilitation letter, with no guarantee of a visa, a digital booklet with the profiles and offerings of delegation members, and business-to-business meetings with technology companies. PASHA has not said whether the same arrangements apply this year, so companies and observers will have to wait for further updates from the association.
The Norway trip adds to a busy run of international outings by PASHA and its partners. A national delegation led by the Pakistan Software Export Board attended LEAP 2026 in Riyadh from August 31 to September 3, with close to 1,000 delegates and exhibiting staff, including 25 representatives from PASHA. At GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, PASHA signed memorandums of understanding for FLEX Global 2026 and for Pakistani participation in GITEX Turkiye 2026. Pakistan has also used the Tech Destination Pakistan banner for pavilions at European events such as the Dublin Tech Summit, so a presence in Oslo fits an effort to put Pakistani IT companies in front of European buyers and partners.
The Oslo visit is also one of several international engagements for PASHA’s new Central Executive Committee, led by Chairman Dr Shoab Khan, which took oath at the annual general meeting on September 30 and met the leadership of Malaysia’s PIKOM earlier this month. For Pakistani firms, the practical value of a trip like this depends on what follows the stage appearances, such as meetings booked, partnerships signed, and contracts won. With no delegation list or agenda published yet, the outcomes in Oslo will only become clear once PASHA reports back after the week ends on October 22.
