Zong has been recognised as Pakistan’s leading mobile network in download speed, upload speed, video experience and time on network, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) Mobile Network Experience Benchmarking Report for the second quarter of 2026. The recognition highlights the company’s performance across key indicators used to assess the mobile experience of consumers. The report provides insights into how mobile operators perform in delivering internet connectivity, streaming quality and network availability as demand for digital services continues to grow across Pakistan.
The recognition covers four important aspects of mobile connectivity. Download speed measures how quickly users can retrieve online content, while upload speed indicates how efficiently they can send files, share videos and transfer data. Video experience assesses the quality of video streaming over mobile networks, and time on network reflects how consistently users remain connected to their operator’s service. Performance across these indicators can influence everyday activities, including video streaming, online gaming, remote work, video calls and access to digital platforms. Zong said its results reflect its focus on improving connectivity, network reliability and customer experience.
The company also highlighted the importance of preparing its network for evolving connectivity requirements as Pakistan’s demand for high-speed mobile internet increases. Businesses and individual users increasingly depend on mobile networks for cloud-based applications, digital payments, online education and entertainment. Maintaining network performance requires ongoing investment in infrastructure, capacity and network management. Zong has stated that it intends to continue developing its network capabilities as mobile technologies evolve, including preparations for the wider adoption of fifth-generation (5G) connectivity and services requiring higher data speeds.
The latest recognition adds to Zong’s performance in the PTA’s separate Quality of Service survey for the second quarter of 2026, which assessed operators across 11 cities and examined coverage, broadband performance, voice services and SMS quality. In that assessment, Zong secured leading positions in several indicators, while Jazz also performed strongly across multiple categories. The findings illustrate that network performance varies depending on the measurement used, the service being assessed and the locations surveyed. Continued investment in mobile infrastructure and improvements in service quality will remain important as operators compete to meet Pakistan’s growing demand for reliable digital connectivity.
