Ufone 5G has won two awards at the Dragons of Asia Awards 2026, receiving international recognition for its marketing and media campaigns. The awards were secured by Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) through its Ufone 5G brand, with the campaigns recognised for their creative concepts and audience engagement. The company received a Gold Dragon in the Best in Media category for its Super 5 campaign and a Black Dragon in the Marketing Discipline category for its Babar Azam’s Lost Phone campaign. Ufone was also reported as the only Pakistani telecom brand to secure a Gold Dragon at this year’s awards. The recognition highlights how telecommunications companies are using advertising, entertainment and digital platforms to communicate service offers and connect with consumers.

The Gold-winning Super 5 campaign promoted Ufone’s package that allows customers to share data, calls and SMS with up to four other people. Launched in February 2026, the campaign featured comedian and television host Tabish Hashmi alongside former Pakistan cricket stars Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq and Saeed Ajmal, members of the country’s 2009 ICC T20 World Cup-winning squad. The campaign began with teaser videos on social media in which the former cricketers hinted at a mysterious selection process, prompting speculation among viewers about a possible return to the game. The eventual advertisement revealed that the players were competing for a place in Tabish Hashmi’s Super 5 group. The concept combined cricket nostalgia and humour with a direct promotion of the telecom package, and the campaign appeared on Pakistani television channels and digital platforms.

Ufone’s second award recognised the Babar Azam’s Lost Phone campaign, which promoted the company’s Weekly Grand Offer. Launched in February 2025, the campaign began with Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam announcing on social media that he had lost his phone and contacts. The announcement generated curiosity before the campaign revealed its promotional purpose, showing Babar searching for his phone alongside fans and introducing the offer. The campaign attracted online attention and reportedly generated more than 10 million views. By using a familiar public figure and a storyline designed to encourage discussion, the campaign connected a telecom offer with social media engagement. The two award-winning campaigns relied on different creative approaches, but both used recognisable personalities and audience curiosity to draw attention to Ufone’s products and services.

The Dragons of Asia Awards recognise marketing communications across the region, with an emphasis on strategic thinking, creative execution and campaign results. Ufone’s double win adds to PTML’s wider recognition for brand communication and marketing activities. Commenting on the achievement, PTML Chief Commercial Officer Syed Atif Raza said the company aimed to develop campaigns that audiences would discuss rather than simply watch. He credited the company’s brands and media teams, along with agency partners, for their work in developing and delivering the campaigns. For telecom operators, marketing remains an important channel for explaining packages, differentiating services and maintaining customer engagement in a competitive market. Ufone’s latest awards demonstrate the international reach of campaigns developed around Pakistani sporting personalities and popular entertainment formats, while the company has positioned the recognition as a milestone in its creative work.
