The National Digital Safety Initiative in Qatar is advancing efforts to help all segments of society use technology safely while facing cyber risks. In a series of posts on X, National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) stated that a diverse set of interactive tools, educational programmes and hands-on workshops ensures that individuals, families and organisations have the knowledge and skills needed to protect their digital presence. NCSA, through the National Cyber Security Academy, unveiled the initiative this year to improve the digital resilience of the country. It was designed to engage all segments of society regardless of age, social background or professional sector, and the campaign promotes safe internet usage and explains potential cyber risks to the public.
The agency highlighted that the initiative has reached a total of 59,667 beneficiaries across 322 participating institutions. According to the report, high satisfaction rates reflect the practical clarity of the project, with approximately 90.5 percent of surveyed participants saying that the awareness content was clear and easy to understand, while 93.3 percent rated the overall initiative as distinguished. The framework aligns with national efforts to improve the cybersecurity posture of families, senior citizens, financial sectors and educational institutions. The figures show that the campaign has reached a wide range of groups, and the survey results suggest that participants found the material useful and simple to follow.
Central to the programme is the Cybersecurity Awareness Portal, an online repository that is accessible in both Arabic and English through dedicated digital channels. The portal delivers interactive awareness tools, including training presentation slides, printed guides, animated and live action videos, cybersecurity games, virtual reality (VR) headsets and interactive touchscreens. Features such as interactive robots and gamified simulations offer hands-on learning experiences that help users detect phishing attempts, manage the privacy of personal data and deal with modern cyber threats. These tools allow people with different levels of technical knowledge to learn through practice, rather than only through reading or listening to presentations.
Outreach campaigns take these digital tools directly into public venues, schools and workplaces across the country. Through interactive workshops, mobile stands and community events, participants learn safe digital habits that protect both personal and institutional infrastructure. By combining technology with practical education, the initiative turns complex cybersecurity concepts into accessible skills for everyday users. Officials said the National Digital Safety Initiative is a vital pillar of the ongoing commitment of Qatar to a secure digital environment, and they added that its reach and high satisfaction rates underline its effectiveness in raising awareness and building cyber resilience, while meeting the diverse needs of the population and setting a benchmark for digital safety standards in the region.
