FAST School of Management at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES), Lahore Campus, has announced an Executive Development Training Programme on Applied AI for Business 2026, aimed at helping working professionals integrate artificial intelligence into their daily workplace activities. The programme is designed around practical applications, with an emphasis on accessible tools that professionals can use to improve existing workflows, analyse information and support business decisions. The initiative reflects the growing interest among organisations in applying AI to routine operations while helping employees understand its limitations, risks and appropriate use in professional settings. The foundation session is scheduled for December 5, 2026, followed by specialist modules on December 12 and 13.
The six-hour foundation session will introduce participants to the effective and responsible use of AI tools in professional environments. Topics include selecting suitable free tools, identifying errors in AI-generated responses, protecting company data and developing reusable AI assistants for recurring tasks. The programme also aims to help participants distinguish between useful AI-generated outputs and information that requires further verification. These skills are relevant to professionals who use digital tools for writing, research, analysis, planning and administrative work. By focusing on hands-on exercises rather than AI concepts alone, the training is intended to help participants understand how AI can be incorporated into existing business processes without overlooking accuracy, confidentiality and human oversight.
The specialist sessions will cover a range of business functions and workplace needs. Participants can choose modules focused on human resources and talent management, finance, marketing and customer insight, and converting processes into working tools. Additional options include leading in the human-AI era and developing an AI-powered second brain to organise information and support knowledge management. This structure allows professionals to select training relevant to their responsibilities, rather than following a single curriculum intended for every role. The process-to-working-tool module is designed around translating a business process into a practical solution, while the leadership-focused session addresses the changing relationship between employees, managers and AI systems. The specialist modules are scheduled as half-day sessions, with each module requiring a minimum of 10 registrations to run.
Mohammad Tariq Hussain, an MIT alumnus, LUMS gold medalist and Fulbright scholar with more than 15 years of experience in AI and data science, will serve as the external trainer. Dr Zainab Amir, Assistant Professor at FAST School of Management, Lahore Campus, is the programme’s focal person and can be contacted at zainab.amir@nu.edu.pk for further information. The fee is PKR 25,000 per session for registrations completed by November 1, while the standard fee will be PKR 35,000 per session thereafter. Registration closes on November 20, 2026, and interested professionals can register through the programme link shared by FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus. If a specialist module does not meet the minimum registration requirement, participants will be able to switch to another module or receive a full refund. The programme offers professionals an opportunity to develop practical AI skills across business functions as organisations continue to evaluate how AI tools can support productivity, analysis and workplace decision-making.
