The National Science Bowl Pakistan (NSB-P) has extended the registration deadline for its 2026-2027 competition to October 27, giving high school students and educational institutions additional time to form teams and submit their applications. The organisers announced the extension through the competition’s official social media channels, encouraging students to participate in the national science contest. Registration is available through the official website, sciencebowl.pk, where schools can review the participation requirements and complete the team registration process.
Organised as a team-based science knowledge competition, National Science Bowl Pakistan follows a fast-paced quiz format inspired by the US National Science Bowl. It tests students across five core disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Mathematics, and Physics. The competition aims to encourage scientific curiosity, subject knowledge and quick analytical thinking among high school students. Participants answer questions in timed rounds, with teams competing to demonstrate their understanding of scientific concepts and their ability to respond accurately under pressure. The format also encourages students to explore subjects beyond routine classroom learning while developing teamwork and problem-solving skills.
The competition is structured around online qualifying rounds, in-person regional competitions and a national final in Islamabad. The online qualifiers are scheduled for November, followed by regional rounds in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore from late December 2026 to January 2027. Teams advancing through the regional stages will compete at the national finals, where the country’s top-performing participants will vie for the championship. Each team can include five active players and up to two reserve members. Entries must be submitted through an accredited high school or college campus, and a nomination or endorsement document signed by the school principal or vice principal on official letterhead is required. Private teams that are not officially nominated by an educational institution are not eligible.
Participation in National Science Bowl Pakistan is free, according to the competition’s official registration guidelines. Schools can register up to three teams per campus, while an additional fourth team may be permitted under the organisers’ girl-majority participation rules. Interested students should coordinate with their school administration and a designated teacher or coordinator to complete the registration before the revised October 27 deadline. The initiative is jointly associated with the Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP) and the Pakistan Innovation Foundation (PIF), reflecting an effort to broaden student engagement with science and STEM learning. Students and schools can consult the official website for registration instructions, eligibility conditions, competition rules and preparation materials.
