The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) has opened applications and nominations for the second edition of the Digital Prosperity Awards 2027, inviting governments, private-sector companies and civil society organisations to showcase digital initiatives delivering measurable economic and social impact. Announced on October 18, the awards are being held under the theme “Building the Future, Today” and aim to recognise solutions that improve public services, expand digital access, support business growth and encourage innovation. The programme is open to eligible initiatives across DCO member states and internationally, providing organisations with an opportunity to gain recognition for their contributions to the digital economy. Applications and nominations will remain open until January 4, 2027.
The second edition covers three pillars, Digital Enablers, Digital Innovation and Digital Society, divided into seven categories. Digital Enablers includes Public Sector Transformation and Cooperation, recognising initiatives that improve government services and produce measurable outcomes through partnerships. Digital Innovation covers Disruptive Solutions and Digital Public Goods, including digital applications, open-source software, open data and open artificial intelligence systems that can be reused or adapted. Digital Society includes Sustainability, Equality and Inclusion, and Protecting Society, recognising technology initiatives addressing environmental challenges, widening participation in the digital economy, and improving online safety, cybersecurity and digital trust. The categories are intended to recognise initiatives that demonstrate real-world results and potential for wider adoption.
Alongside the category awards, the programme includes three flagship prizes recognising contributions to digital prosperity. These comprise the DCO Member State Award for Digital Prosperity for All, the DCO International Award for Digital Prosperity for All, and the Bridging the Gap Award. The prizes recognise eligible organisations and initiatives that deliver significant impact, with the Bridging the Gap Award focusing on solutions addressing identified gaps in the digital economy through measurable and scalable outcomes. The awards programme also seeks to connect recognised initiatives with wider networks and opportunities for collaboration. The inaugural edition recognised seven winners from the public sector, private sector and civil society, establishing a foundation for the second edition.
For applicants, the process includes checking eligibility, submitting an application in English with supporting evidence, and progressing through assessment and shortlisting where applicable. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to present their initiatives and participate in a question-and-answer session before final selections are made. Pakistani startups, technology companies, public-sector organisations and civil society initiatives may find the programme relevant if their digital solutions meet the eligibility criteria and can demonstrate measurable outcomes. Potential areas include AI applications, digital public services, cybersecurity, digital skills, sustainability and inclusive technology access. Interested organisations can review the categories, requirements and application guidance through the official Digital Prosperity Awards website before the January 4, 2027 deadline.
