Wego has officially launched its services in Pakistan with the introduction of its ‘Book on Wego’ feature. This new feature allows Pakistani travellers to book flights and hotels directly through Wego’s app, website, and platform, bypassing third-party redirects and simplifying the booking process for users.

Wego’s expansion into Pakistan is part of its broader growth strategy in the region. To further solidify its presence in the country, Wego will participate in the upcoming Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) 2025, one of the most significant travel and tourism exhibitions in Pakistan. At the event, Wego will showcase its award-winning travel marketplace and introduce its new direct booking feature to a wider audience.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Singapore, Wego has quickly established itself as a premier travel search engine and booking platform across the MENA region and Asia-Pacific. The platform offers users the ability to compare flight and hotel prices from a broad network of local and international suppliers, providing a convenient one-stop-shop for travellers looking for the best deals.

The expansion into Pakistan comes at a time of significant growth in the country’s travel sector. Wego noted that domestic flight searches in Pakistan have surged by over 120% year-on-year, highlighting a growing demand for travel services. Saudi Arabia remains the top international destination for Pakistani travellers, with a 100% year-on-year increase in searches. The launch of the ‘Book on Wego’ feature in Pakistan is expected to further streamline the travel booking process and offer a more localised and seamless experience to Pakistani users.

Dean Wicks, the Chief Flights Officer at Wego, emphasized the company’s commitment to Pakistan’s market, noting that the acquisition of a Travel Agency license from the Department of Tourist Services Pakistan and IATA accreditation was a major step forward in the company’s expansion.

“This milestone will help us expand further and provide more competitive airfare options to Pakistani customers through our global network.”

Ubaidullah Sarwar, the Director of Wego Pakistan, echoed this sentiment, expressing the company’s dedication to enhancing travel accessibility in the country.

“Through our advanced technology and localised approach, we aim to make travel more accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for Pakistani travellers.”

Wego’s participation in PTM 2025 will offer the company the chance to connect with industry leaders, travel agencies, and potential partners to push innovation in Pakistan’s travel sector. At the event, Wego will showcase exclusive travel deals, secure payment options, and the user-friendly features of the ‘Book on Wego’ platform.

To encourage Pakistani travellers to use its platform, Wego is offering a free eSIM with 1GB of complimentary data to users who book international flights through its platform. This initiative will help travellers stay connected as soon as they arrive at their destination and also enable them to extend their data plans at affordable rates.

By leveraging its extensive global partnerships, Wego provides access to a wide array of flight options from major airlines, budget carriers, and hotel chains. The platform allows users to compare prices from various sources, ensuring they get the best deals without the need to visit multiple travel websites.

With this latest expansion, Wego is positioning itself as a key player in Pakistan’s rapidly growing travel market. The company plans to integrate its advanced technology and user-friendly services to enhance the overall travel experience, making it easier for Pakistanis to access affordable and reliable travel options. As Wego continues to build its presence in Pakistan, it is expected to reshape the way Pakistani travelers approach booking flights and accommodations, making the entire process more convenient and accessible.
