The Punjab government intends to promote chip technology in educational institutions.
Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz, Punjab’s Minister for Higher Education, has stated that the government plans to develop chip technology at nine universities in the province.
The news was made at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) during a seminar titled “Skills Development in Micro and Nanoelectronics Design Technologies in Punjabi Universities,” which the minister attended as a special guest.
When asked about the possibility of integrating microchips and nanochips with universities in Pakistan, he said that the provincial government first wants to push the technology at nine well-known universities, with UET Lahore leading the charge.
Other institutes, including UET Taxila, ITU Lahore, and Islamia University Bahawalpur, will help boost chip technology in Punjab in addition to the UET Lahore campus.
