Sony has opened pre-orders for two Grand Theft Auto VI Limited Edition DualSense controllers, giving players a choice between Black and White designs inspired by Vice City. Both controllers are priced at $84.99 in the United States and will officially launch on November 19, the same day as GTA 6 itself, with Sony confirming that availability will be limited once the launch window arrives. The company is calling the two versions the Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and the Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition, and both feature a shimmering, colour shifting finish inspired by Vice City’s sunsets and neon soaked nightlife, complete with purple and blue accents running across the controller shell. Palm tree details have been molded directly into the design, while GTA VI branding appears prominently on the touchpad of each controller.

The two editions lean into contrasting sides of the fictional city’s atmosphere to set themselves apart visually. The White version draws on Vice City’s daytime look, incorporating its white sand beaches and pastel colour palette into the finish, while the Black version pulls inspiration from the city’s nightlife scene, favouring a darker, moodier aesthetic that mirrors the neon lit streets players will explore after dark in the game. Sony teased the pre-order launch a day in advance through the official GTA 6 Updates account, building anticipation among fans who have already been closely tracking every piece of merchandise tied to the game ahead of its release.

Availability for the two controllers will differ depending on region and retailer. The White Limited Edition will be available through PlayStation Direct as well as participating retailers worldwide, giving it a wider distribution footprint at launch. The Black Limited Edition, on the other hand, is more restricted, with Sony confirming it will be exclusive to PlayStation Direct in markets where that storefront operates, while select retailers will carry it in other regions where PlayStation Direct is not available. Both versions carry the same $84.99 price tag, though Sony has noted that regional pricing and exact availability will vary by market once pre-orders go live more broadly.

The release of these controllers adds to a wave of hardware tie-ins building up around GTA 6, following reports of PlayStation 5 prices climbing above $1,400 in some markets amid surging demand tied to the game’s hype. With the November 19 launch date now locked in for both the game and its accompanying hardware, Sony appears to be leaning into the crossover appeal of GTA 6 merchandise to capture pre-launch interest from collectors and players alike, a strategy that has become increasingly common for major game releases tied to iconic, highly anticipated franchises like Grand Theft Auto.
