PSEB has invited its registered IT and ITeS companies to join Cohort 2, Session 16 of the GAIN Online Awareness and Engagement Series, a dialogue focused on legal, regulatory, and taxation matters relevant to technology firms operating both within Pakistan and in international markets. The session comes as the country’s tech sector continues to expand its global footprint, a trend that has made cross border taxation, foreign remittances, and regulatory compliance increasingly important considerations for companies seeking to grow sustainably while maintaining investor confidence.
According to the announcement, the session will be led by Hassan Yousaf Shah, Partner at Hassan Shah and Associates, who brings more than 27 years of experience advising multinational companies, banks, and technology firms including Shell UK, Ericsson, Nokia, and Wateen. Shah has also served on institutional panels associated with FBR, CBD, and OGDCL, and is expected to walk participants through practical legal considerations that IT founders and company leadership commonly encounter as they scale their operations. The session description places particular emphasis on the importance of a solid understanding of corporate governance frameworks, foreign exchange regulations, State Bank of Pakistan procedures, and available fiscal incentives, framing these as essential elements for protecting digital assets and enabling smoother business expansion for companies operating across borders.
The session, titled A Dialogue on Legal, Regulatory and Taxation Matters for IT Companies, is scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026, running from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time. Organizers noted that the session is being held exclusively for PSEB registered IT and ITeS companies, and interested firms can register through the provided link ahead of the event. The initiative was announced jointly with references to the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and PSEB, positioning the session within the broader GAIN Online Awareness and Engagement Series that has been running in cohorts to address various operational and regulatory challenges facing registered technology companies.
The session forms part of a continuing pattern of capacity building efforts aimed at Pakistan’s IT and IT enabled services sector, which has increasingly positioned itself around global service delivery and cross border business relationships. As more Pakistani technology companies pursue international clients and markets, sessions addressing legal and taxation complexities tied to cross border operations are likely to remain a recurring feature of PSEB’s engagement with its registered member companies, helping firms navigate compliance requirements that differ from those governing purely domestic business activity.
