Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Govt School has taken a significant stride in the realm of education by introducing an innovative Digital IT lab aimed at providing free IT education to underprivileged youth. The lab’s inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Syed Amin-ul-Haque, and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Convener of MQM Pakistan.

Located within the premises of Rashid Minhas Govt School for Boys and Girls in North Nazimabad, Karachi, the Digital IT lab signifies a transformative step towards empowering disadvantaged students through technology-driven education.

Operated within a government school, the lab seeks to offer comprehensive and cost-free IT training, equipping students with essential skills such as content writing and freelancing. This initiative is a collaborative effort with Ignite, a National Technology Fund functioning as a non-profit technology company under the Government of Pakistan, overseen by the IT and Telecom Ministry.

Syed Amin-ul-Haque, while addressing the launch event, highlighted the lab’s pivotal role in nurturing talent. He noted that the program encompasses a diverse array of courses, spanning content writing, freelancing, and 15 other specialized subjects. Equipped with modern facilities and cutting-edge equipment, the lab is tailored to deliver market-driven courses, significantly impacting the over 300 enrolled students.

The Federal IT Minister emphasized that the lab will be staffed by highly experienced and skilled trainers, committed to providing top-tier IT training without imposing any financial burden on the students. This education not only imparts sought-after skills but also empowers students to generate income for themselves and their families.

Minister Amin-ul-Haque firmly believes that imparting IT skills to the younger generation will unlock a multitude of opportunities, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic growth and GDP expansion.

The inauguration of the Digital IT lab at Rashid Minhas Govt School underscores a collective commitment to uplifting the less privileged through education. By offering cutting-edge IT education and nurturing essential skills, this initiative aligns with Pakistan’s journey towards cultivating a technologically proficient and prosperous society.
