Jazz, Pakistan’s leading connectivity provider from JazzWorld, has announced a strategic collaboration with DIGIT and UNISOC to introduce more affordable 5G devices to the Pakistani market. The partnership brings together Jazz’s connectivity ecosystem and market reach, DIGIT’s device expertise and understanding of local consumers, and UNISOC’s semiconductor and 5G platform capabilities, combining three distinct areas of expertise under a single collaborative initiative.
The collaboration will initially introduce two products: a 5G MiFi device and a 5G smartphone, both powered by UNISOC platforms. Designed to make next generation connectivity more accessible, the devices are intended to allow consumers to experience faster and more reliable mobile connectivity across communication, entertainment, education, work, and other digital services. The 5G MiFi will provide portable high speed mobile broadband across multiple connected devices, while the smartphone is positioned as an accessible entry point into 5G for consumers who may not have previously owned a 5G capable device.
Asad Maqbool, Head of Jazz Consumer Growth, said the benefits of 5G can only be fully realized when more people have access to affordable, capable devices, adding that combining Jazz’s connectivity ecosystem with DIGIT’s device expertise and UNISOC’s technology aims to make 5G more accessible for consumers across their everyday digital lives. Abdul Rehman Mahmood, CEO of DIGIT, said the company’s focus remains on bringing reliable, affordable, and high quality devices to market that address real consumer needs, describing the collaboration as an opportunity to expand DIGIT’s portfolio while supporting the adoption of next generation connectivity across Pakistan.
Xian Miao, General Manager of the IoT Product Line at UNISOC, said Pakistan represents an important and rapidly evolving digital market, noting that the company’s V510 and UMS9621 platforms are enabling 5G across mobile broadband and smartphone devices. The initiative comes as Pakistan enters a new phase of connectivity, where the availability of capable and affordable devices will be critical to translating ongoing 5G network expansion into wider consumer adoption. The partnership highlights the importance of collaboration across the broader 5G ecosystem, bringing together network connectivity, device innovation, and semiconductor technology, with Jazz, DIGIT, and UNISOC also planning to explore further opportunities across 5G smartphones, mobile broadband products, and other connected solutions for the Pakistani market. Commercial availability, pricing, and sales channel details for the devices are expected to be announced separately in the period ahead.
