The Ministry of Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board, has introduced a digital facility to streamline the medical certification process for pilgrims intending to perform Hajj in 2027. The new system allows Pakistani pilgrims to submit their mandatory medical fitness certificates online, replacing what would otherwise be a paper based verification process handled separately from the rest of the Hajj registration procedure.
Under the new system, pilgrims will be able to submit their medical certificates through the Pak Hajj app and portal, with the entire process built around a clear set of steps. Pilgrims will first need to download the prescribed medical form, then have it completed and verified by a doctor registered with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, before uploading the completed certificate through the Hajj Management System. This structured digital workflow gives pilgrims a clear, traceable process for fulfilling the medical documentation requirement, removing the need for physical submission of paperwork at designated offices.
For Pakistani nationals living abroad, the system includes a separate pathway, requiring the medical form to be completed and verified by a doctor in their country of residence before being uploaded under the Overseas Category on the online system. This distinction ensures that pilgrims outside Pakistan are not required to return to the country solely to complete the medical certification step, instead allowing them to fulfill the requirement locally through a verified physician before submitting the documentation digitally alongside other pilgrims applying from within Pakistan.
Authorities confirmed that submission of a medical fitness certificate is mandatory under Saudi requirements for all pilgrims traveling for Hajj, making the certification step a compulsory part of the overall pilgrimage preparation process rather than an optional formality. Officials have advised intending pilgrims to complete their medical documentation and other online formalities well in advance, cautioning that delays in submitting the required paperwork could affect the broader registration and preparation timeline ahead of the pilgrimage. The advisory reflects a broader effort by the Ministry to encourage early compliance, given the volume of pilgrims expected to go through the certification process ahead of Hajj 2027.
Pilgrims have also been encouraged to download and actively use the Pak Hajj app to access related services and complete their Hajj related requirements digitally, positioning the app as a central tool for managing various aspects of pilgrimage preparation beyond just medical certification.
