In October 2024, BuyPass.ai, a newly launched e-commerce startup, announced the successful closure of its angel funding round, marking the first major milestone in its mission to digitize offline commerce. Targeting the GCC and Asian markets, the company plans to become a digital superapp combining software and AI tools to bridge the gap between online and offline shopping and services.

BuyPass.ai is led by Muhammad Ammar Hassan, a seasoned e-commerce executive with over a decade of experience at OLX (Prosus) and Daraz (Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group). Drawing from his expertise in scaling C2C and B2C platforms, Hassan aims to solve persistent challenges in traditional commerce and enhance existing e-commerce solutions.

“Ammar is an exceptional leader,” said co-investor Umair Masoom, a prominent UAE-based Pakistani entrepreneur who has raised over $30 million from leading venture capital firms across the US, EU, and GCC. Masoom joins BuyPass.ai as a Founder Partner & Board Member, bringing extensive expertise in international growth and capital strategy.

Innovating Offline Commerce with AI

BuyPass.ai’s core mission is to digitize offline commerce through innovative technology, transforming everyday shopping and service experiences. By offering a single platform equipped with software and AI-driven tools, the startup is setting out to simplify the digital experience for consumers in the GCC and Asia.

“We’re excited to secure funding and have strategic backers onboard,” said Ammar Hassan, Founder & CEO of BuyPass.ai. “Their expertise will be crucial for our growth and scaling efforts.”

Funding to Fuel Product Development

The angel funding round, co-led by Umair Masoom, will accelerate BuyPass.ai’s product and technology development. The startup is currently in stealth mode, with plans to unveil its digital commerce solutions by June 2025.

With the backing of experienced leaders and investors, BuyPass.ai is poised to disrupt the regional e-commerce landscape. As the startup gears up to launch, its goal is to empower consumers by offering solutions that enhance both technology and shopping experiences, ultimately helping people “do more in life.”
