The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has established a Pakistani-German Facilitation & Reintegration Center (PGFRC) in Lahore, with an advisory desk at the Overseas Pakistani Foundation (OPF) headquarters.
The center aims to assist returning overseas Pakistanis in successfully integrating their skills into Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape and securing gainful employment. This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between GIZ GmbH and the Overseas Pakistani Foundation to formalize the technical assistance provided to the PGFRC.
This center plays a crucial role in creating more job opportunities for Pakistani workers, contributing to long-term economic development. It offers a range of services, including:
- Technical and vocational training
- Advice on job market trends and opportunities
- Guidance on finding employment in Pakistan
- Entrepreneurship and startup support
- Psychosocial support and information on healthcare in Pakistan
- Information on living conditions and advice on obtaining microfinance and loans
The PGFRC’s efforts are expected to significantly enhance the reintegration process for returning overseas Pakistanis, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the country’s growth and development.
