NUST Brings Global Telecoms Focused Hackathon TADHack Global 2017 to Pakistan
National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in collaboration with M/s Technology Innovators is hosting TADHack Global 2017 on 23rd – 24th September 2017 at NUST H-12 Campus, Islamabad and NUST PNEC, Karachi concurrently.
The Telecom Application Development initiative was started in 2013 as a grassroots effort to build an ecosystem focused on telecom application development.

TADHack is currently the largest telecoms-focused hackathon worldwide and is a yearly event focused on developers, technology and creativity in which people (e.g. students, graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, product managers, IT managers, computer programmers, interested individuals, and subject-matter-experts) collaborate on a software project focused on programmable telecoms utilizing platforms provided by telecoms.
The hackathon is simple. Participants need to create hacks using the global sponsors’ resources. This year’s sponsors include video.io, Apifonica, Temasys, Matrix and Telestax. According to their site,
We also have some development themes this year to encourage hacks in particular topics, such as BOTs, machine learning, IoT, Enterprise Communications, edge computing, decentralized web, and open source contributions.

Globally, the hackathon will take place in the following locations:
Athens, The Hague, Kyiv, Lagos, London, Lusaka, Madrid, Paris, St Petersburg, Auckland, Brisbane, Sri Lanka, Islamabad, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Pune, Singapore, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Miami, Popayán, and a last option… Remote. This means that those who are not present in any of the set locations, can enter the hackathon remotely! The events will be running over two weekends, at different locations. Part will have these over the 22nd-24th and the remaining from 29th Sept – 1st Oct.
