Sindh Traffic Police is set to resume online issuance of driving licenses starting next week, according to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Driving License Branch. This announcement came after a meeting led by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon.
The meeting aimed at streamlining the online application process for driving licenses. Key decisions included resuming online issuance for both learner’s permits and international driving licenses. Additionally, attendees were introduced to the online license renewal system. This new platform will allow users to pay fees, input bank details, and submit medical fitness certificates electronically.
Discussions also addressed proposals for streamlining medical fitness and eye exams, particularly for Pakistanis residing abroad.
The IGP emphasized that the online system will be implemented on a trial basis initially. He also hinted at the potential introduction of mobile vans offering licensing services, further enhancing convenience for citizens.
