The Pakistan Software Export Board is bringing together Pakistan’s technology industry and counterparts from the Russian Federation for the Pakistan Russia IT Collaboration Webinar, scheduled for October 14, 2026. The online session is designed to help Pakistani IT and ITeS companies, professionals and freelancers explore practical avenues for engaging with the Russian market, adding another region to PSEB’s ongoing efforts to connect local technology companies with opportunities beyond traditional markets. Organisers described new markets as often beginning with the right conversation, framing the webinar as a starting point for a relationship between the two countries’ technology sectors rather than an end in itself.

The webinar will focus on four specific areas of potential collaboration between Pakistani and Russian technology stakeholders. These include market access, giving Pakistani companies a clearer understanding of how to enter and operate within the Russian market, and business to business collaboration, aimed at connecting Pakistani firms directly with Russian counterparts for potential commercial partnerships. The session will also cover technology partnerships and joint solution development, both of which point toward longer term collaborative relationships rather than one off transactional engagements between companies from the two countries. Covering these four areas within a single session suggests the webinar is meant to give a broad overview of the different ways Pakistani and Russian technology companies could work together, rather than focusing narrowly on one specific type of engagement. PSEB framed the webinar as an opportunity for companies looking beyond traditional markets to begin understanding where Pakistan’s technology capabilities can connect with demand, partners and opportunities in the Russian market, suggesting the session is intended primarily as an introductory step rather than a venue for finalising specific deals.

This introductory framing means the session is likely to help Pakistani IT companies and freelancers assess the practical viability of pursuing business in Russia before committing to more concrete market entry efforts. Freelancers in particular may find value in a session of this kind, given that individual professionals often face a steeper learning curve than established companies when trying to identify demand and navigate business practices in an unfamiliar international market. The webinar will be held entirely online on October 14, 2026, with the joining link shared exclusively with participants who register in advance through the link provided by PSEB, a format that allows companies and freelancers from across Pakistan to participate without needing to travel.

The online format also potentially widens the pool of attendees beyond those based in major cities where in person industry events are more commonly held, lowering the barrier to participation for smaller firms and independent professionals who might not otherwise attend a dedicated market entry event. The initiative adds to PSEB’s broader pattern of organising market specific sessions aimed at connecting Pakistani technology companies with international partners and opportunities, following similar engagement efforts the organisation has pursued with other regions and markets, including its recent memorandum of understanding with Asia Web3 Alliance Japan aimed at opening pathways into the Asia Pacific region. By specifically targeting the Russian Federation, PSEB appears to be signalling growing interest in diversifying the export destinations available to Pakistani IT and ITeS companies, extending its market development efforts beyond the more established markets that Pakistani technology firms have traditionally focused on for international business.
