In order to simply the process of Islamic charity, Dr. Muhammad Tauseef Rab Ph.D. from the University of Texas has developed an app called Feeling Blessed. It is said the app simplifies the process of charity and donation for Muslims, helping them easily donate to their favorite charities and help do good in society.
Feeling Blessed has an easy to use interface and different options regarding donations that help donors gear up for longer commitments to these social organizations. The app also allows transactions through credit cards and charges no fees.
Furthermore, Feeling Blessed along with its recurring donations option also has an Sadqa-e-Jaria feature, i.e. if you want to contribute to an organization but aren’t able to donate due to financial constraints, you can set up a recurring donation to contribute little by little every week, month, or any other suitable time period. The Sadqa-e-Jaria feature of Feeling Blessed also lets one donate on behalf of other individuals such as parents, wife, brother etc.
It is reported that in Ramadan last year, Feeling Blessed raised nearly 1 million Dollars for organizations such as Edhi Foundation, Indus Foundation, and Muslim Legal Fund of America. Other organizations can also easily sign up to be part of the Feeling Blessed platform by sending in their organization’s plan, the app apart from a small subscription fee, they don’t charge anything else from the charity organizations registered.
The app is currently available for download on Android and iOS devices.
