The Sindh E-Portal has been officially handed over to the Sindh IT Company (SITC) for its operation and maintenance, according to a post by Ali Rashid, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh for Science and Information Technology, who chaired the handover. Secretary Science and Information Technology Department (S&ITD) Agha Sohail Ahmed, Member IT Dr Shahzeb Ali Malik, and SITC Chief Executive Officer Zain Shah attended. Rashid described the handover as another step toward improving digital governance, ensuring seamless public services, and advancing the vision of Digital Sindh. His post does not give the exact date of the handover or the terms under which SITC will run the portal, so details of the arrangement are yet to be shared publicly.
The E-Portal was launched by S&ITD on 9 June 2026 as a development scheme covering newly built websites of the administrative departments of the Government of Sindh. According to the department, it is meant to give citizens, businesses, and government employees a single online platform for public services, information, and administrative processes, and it can be accessed at sindh.gov.pk. The department said the portal is expected to simplify access to citizen-centric services, improve transparency and efficiency in public administration, and enable faster communication between citizens and government departments. At the launch, Rashid said it would serve as a unified digital gateway that promotes greater transparency and accountability across departments.
S&ITD’s description of the project says the portal is hosted with the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) with several security features and larger data storage, and that participating departments bear no cost or technical maintenance burden. Complete training and user manuals are also provided to department staff. Those features explain why the department chose to assign operations to a dedicated technology arm, since keeping websites for many departments running and secure is a continuing task rather than a one-time build. SITC is the Government of Sindh’s flagship digital transformation arm, and it has been given the job of modernising governance, digitising public services, and building a secure digital ecosystem for the province.
SITC has taken on similar responsibilities for other provincial systems. In March 2026, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over the signing of a master service level agreement between the Board of Revenue and SITC for the continued rollout of the e-stamping system. The News reported that in the five months after SITC took over that system, more than 730,000 challans were processed and Rs12.8 billion was collected through the platform. SITC’s own portfolio also lists an e-registration platform for property deeds, which it says has registered more than 50,000 deeds digitally. Whether the E-Portal can match that record will depend on how quickly SITC keeps departmental content current and how reliably the platform serves the public.
