Residents of Punjab can check the status of their driving license applications online through the Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS), allowing applicants to monitor the progress of their licenses without visiting a licensing office simply to obtain an update. The online tracking facility enables users to check available application information from home using their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number. The service is part of Punjab’s digital delivery of public services, which aims to make routine administrative processes more accessible through online platforms. Applicants waiting for a newly issued license can use the system to determine whether their license is still being processed, has reached the printing stage or has other tracking information available. The facility is particularly useful for people who have already submitted their applications and want to check progress before contacting the relevant authorities.

To check a driving license application, users should open a web browser and search for the DLIMS tracking service or visit the official Punjab driving license portal at https://dlims.punjab.gov.pk/track. Applicants can then access the tracking application and enter their 13-digit CNIC number in the required field. The system may also ask users to complete a CAPTCHA verification step to confirm that the request is being submitted by a person. After entering the requested information, applicants can submit the details to view the status displayed by the system. Users should ensure that their CNIC information is entered correctly and follow the instructions shown on the official portal. As the tracking page displays the information available in the system, the exact details shown may vary according to the stage of the application and the information recorded against the applicant’s details.

The tracking results can help applicants understand whether their driving license is still being processed or is awaiting printing. For example, a status indicating that a regular license is in the printing queue means that the card is waiting to be printed. Applicants should distinguish between printing status and delivery status, as these refer to separate stages of the process. Once a license has been printed and dispatched, delivery information may be available through the tracking details. Where a Pakistan Post tracking number is provided, applicants can use that reference on the postal service’s tracking platform to check the progress of their shipment. However, users should rely on the information actually displayed on the official system rather than assuming that every application will show a postal tracking number or the same level of detail. If the application status does not provide sufficient information, applicants can consult the contact details published by DLIMS for driving license-related queries.

The online tracking facility forms part of Punjab’s broader efforts to digitise driving license services, including application processing, verification, renewal and card tracking. The provincial Driving License Information Management System was developed with support from the Punjab Information Technology Board to centralise licensing records and improve the management of applications across the province. By making application information accessible online, the system can reduce the need for applicants to make repeated visits to licensing centres merely to ask about progress. It also provides a central digital channel through which citizens can access licensing services and check the information available for their applications. Applicants should use the official DLIMS portal when entering personal information and avoid sharing their CNIC details with unofficial websites or individuals claiming to offer faster processing. The online tracker provides a convenient way to check progress, but it does not replace any additional verification or instructions that licensing authorities may require during the application process.
