Nishat Group has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with LUXEED, a premium new energy vehicle brand backed by Chinese automaker Chery Group and technology company Huawei, to introduce the brand in Pakistan. The agreement was signed in Wuhu, China, and establishes a framework for cooperation between the two sides to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s premium automotive market. The proposed collaboration will focus on technology integration and local market development as the country’s automotive sector gradually expands its range of electric and other new energy vehicles. The partnership marks another step in Nishat Group’s expansion into the automotive industry, where it has already introduced several brands through its automotive business, NexGen Auto. While the agreement signals an intention to bring LUXEED vehicles to Pakistani consumers, the companies have not yet announced the specific models planned for the local market, their prices or a launch date.
LUXEED positions itself in the premium mobility segment, combining vehicle engineering with connected-car technology and intelligent driving features. The brand was developed through cooperation between Chery and Huawei under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, commonly known as HIMA. Under this arrangement, Chery contributes vehicle manufacturing and engineering expertise, while Huawei supplies digital technologies designed to enhance the in-car experience. These include the HarmonyOS smart cockpit, Qiankun advanced driver-assistance systems and related digital driving technologies. The combination is intended to deliver connected infotainment, intelligent vehicle functions and driver-assistance capabilities alongside premium comfort and performance. LUXEED held its global brand launch in Wuhu on October 21, 2026, presenting its focus on intelligence, luxury and driving experience. Its planned introduction in Pakistan could give buyers another option in the premium new energy vehicle segment, where interest in technology-led mobility is increasing. However, the features and specifications available locally will depend on which vehicles the companies ultimately decide to introduce.
The agreement builds on Nishat Group’s existing involvement in Pakistan’s automotive market through NexGen Auto. The group introduced OMODA and JAECOO vehicles in Pakistan in August 2025, supported by a reported investment of $100 million and local assembly operations in Faisalabad. The brands have reportedly recorded more than 15,000 customer deliveries during their first year. NexGen Auto has also introduced iCAUR in collaboration with Chery Group, adding another brand to its automotive portfolio. The proposed LUXEED partnership would extend this presence into a more technology-focused premium segment. Nishat Group’s experience in manufacturing, finance, energy and other sectors could support its ability to develop distribution, customer services and commercial operations for additional automotive brands. Nevertheless, the agreement itself does not confirm whether LUXEED vehicles will be imported as completely built units or assembled locally. Any future plans involving local manufacturing, investment commitments or production facilities would require further announcements from the companies.
The proposed introduction of LUXEED comes as Pakistan’s new energy vehicle market develops alongside wider discussions about fuel costs, vehicle affordability, charging infrastructure and emissions. Premium electric vehicles can offer advanced digital features and an alternative to conventional petrol-powered cars, but their adoption depends on several practical considerations. Vehicle pricing, import duties and taxes, access to charging facilities, battery support, spare-parts availability and after-sales service will all influence consumer demand. For a new brand entering Pakistan, establishing customer confidence and a reliable service network will be particularly important. Nishat Group and LUXEED have indicated that further information about models, specifications, pricing and the Pakistani launch timeline will be announced later. Until those details are confirmed, the MoU should be viewed as a framework for cooperation rather than a completed vehicle launch. The partnership nevertheless signals Nishat Group’s intention to broaden its automotive portfolio and explore opportunities in Pakistan’s evolving premium new energy vehicle market.
