18th June 2017, saw to two things: Father’s Day and Pakistan under the captainship of Sarfaraz Ahmed, bagging the Champions Trophy Final against the Indian Team with a stunning victory that is sure to be talked about for a really long time.

Every household in both the households was surely abuzz during the heart-stopping match, not to mention the social media was lit with a dozen of memes from both sides of the border. While the Pakistani cricket team was battling out on the field at Oval’s, the Pakistani Twitterati was battling out it on Twitter with their never ending memes that got better with every six or four scored by Fakhar Zaman and every wicket taken by our bowlers.

A certain veteran Bollywood actor was also not speared in an epic battle of the tweets and memes on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for his hateful comments on the Pakistani cricket team made a couple of day prior to the match. The meme game of Pakistanis is certainly getting stronger day by day.

Facebook pages of various businesses had competitions going on, where people had to predict the outcome of the game by reacting on their posts to tell them who will with the lucky winner getting an amazing chance to win prizes.

Various e-commerce platforms also stepped up after the win, announced flash sales across their outlets such as Khaddi, Sapphire, and Secret Stash. They sent out bulk SMS’s to the ecstatic masses announcing up to 50% off on select items till they go out of stock! Talk about happiness over winning a match.

The telecom network Jazz came up with the advertisement No Issue Laylo Tissue” which was sort of a response to India’s ad “Mauka Mauka”. The ad created hype all over the social media, and one must applaud the timing of its release as it came just right after the hateful comments by the Bollywood actor on Twitter.

The cricket team was applauded for their brilliant performance by everyone across the globe, as cricket legends and celebrities took to twitter, Facebook etc to sing praises of their performance. The official ICC pages on Facebook and Twitter also changed their displays with the winning team picture holding the cup high in celebration.

It is to be noted that earlier the Pakistani team almost didn’t make it to the Champions League and were placed on number 8, but they fought their way to the top battling it out with the top 4 and telling the world what they are truly made off.

Once again, congratulations to the men in green! Pakistan Zindabad.
