Zindigi Freelancer Connect, a dedicated platform to support Pakistan’s growing freelance economy, has officially launched its national series with the first event held in Peshawar. Hosted at CECOS University and powered by Edversity, the initiative is focused on enabling freelancers through targeted training, mentoring, and digital financial access. With Pakistan consistently ranking among the top five freelancing countries globally, this program arrives as a strategic step to support a workforce exceeding four million self-employed professionals.

At the heart of this initiative is the Zindigi Freelancer Account, designed specifically to meet the financial needs of freelancers. This includes a US Dollar-based account, minimal international transaction fees via the Zindigi debit card, support for both local and global payments, and a built-in invoice generation tool accessible directly through the Zindigi app. These features aim to remove financial friction for freelancers, allowing them to focus more on growth and client relationships rather than operational constraints.

The Peshawar edition attracted a wide range of digital professionals, trainers, top-performing freelancers, and aspiring youth from the region. The event offered a full day of sessions including keynotes, fireside chats, panel discussions, training workshops, and networking opportunities. These sessions were led by experienced voices in the freelance and digital sectors, who shared valuable insights drawn from personal and professional journeys, helping to shape a clearer path forward for new and seasoned freelancers alike.

Ibtisam Babar, Regional Manager Special Initiatives at Zindigi, noted the broader vision behind this engagement. He shared that Zindigi Prize has already emerged as Pakistan’s largest local entrepreneurial community, and the addition of Zindigi Freelancer Connect further expands that ecosystem. This initiative is structured to offer comprehensive support—financial tools, learning content, mentorship, and networking—to help freelancers succeed in a global digital economy where competition is both vast and fast-paced.

Zindigi Freelancer Connect aims to bridge a critical gap in Pakistan’s digital workforce, where many talented professionals often lack the tools and platforms to scale sustainably. By bringing together different elements of the freelance lifecycle under one umbrella—education, financial inclusion, and community—the initiative positions itself as a holistic solution for a modern workforce. The successful turnout and engagement in Peshawar has reinforced Zindigi’s commitment to supporting freelancers through practical initiatives that are accessible and scalable.

Following the Peshawar event, additional editions of Zindigi Freelancer Connect are set to be held in other major cities across the country. These upcoming sessions will continue to offer freelancers access to industry experts, real-world insights, and digital finance services tailored to the evolving needs of Pakistan’s freelance economy. This ongoing series aims to foster an environment where digital professionals are equipped not only with the tools but also with the community to succeed in both local and international markets.
