P@SHA and USAID on January 15th, came together to launch the 2nd Capacity Building Session on GAMEPRENEURSHIP at the Business Incubation Centre at the University of Peshawar. This collaborative effort aims to bridge the gap between education and industry in Pakistan’s gaming sector by offering young professionals and students an opportunity to gain crucial skills for success in the fast-growing gaming industry. The session served as a key platform for fostering talent, driving innovation, and creating new opportunities within the gaming ecosystem.

The interactive session featured an insightful panel discussion with some of the leading experts in the field. Muhammad Hilal, Chairperson of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Pakistan, along with Omer Khokhar, CEO of Maida Technologies, and Talha Bin Afzal, CEO of Algoryte, shared their valuable insights on game development, entrepreneurship, and the dynamics of the gaming industry. These discussions provided attendees with a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities that lie in the gaming industry, emphasizing the need for both technical expertise and entrepreneurial mindset to excel.

The event also highlighted the strong partnership between P@SHA and USAID’s Economic Revitalization of Displaced Communities in Afghanistan (ERDA) program. Aleem Abbas and Syeda Safa H. from P@SHA took the stage to discuss how the collaboration between the two organizations is aimed at fostering talent, creating job opportunities, and stimulating innovation in the gaming sector. Their remarks underscored the importance of initiatives like GAMEPRENEURSHIP in developing a robust ecosystem for game developers in Pakistan, especially in light of the industry’s exponential growth globally.

The training session provided attendees with a unique platform to network, learn, and engage with top professionals in the gaming industry. It also emphasized the need for strategic partnerships between educational institutions, industry leaders, and development organizations to ensure that Pakistan’s gaming sector can thrive and compete on a global scale.

P@SHA’s ongoing collaboration with USAID aims to equip the next generation of gaming professionals with the skills needed to succeed in a competitive market. By facilitating such capacity-building sessions, the partnership hopes to empower individuals to pursue careers in game development, game entrepreneurship, and related fields.

Looking ahead, the collaboration is set to bring more empowering events to leading universities across the region. These events will continue to foster a dynamic exchange of ideas and innovation, helping students, developers, and entrepreneurs gain practical insights into the world of gaming and technology. By strengthening the ties between academia and industry, P@SHA and USAID are laying the foundation for a thriving gaming ecosystem in Pakistan, one that can drive both economic growth and global recognition.

As the gaming industry continues to grow, initiatives like these are crucial in ensuring that young talent is well-equipped to navigate and succeed in the increasingly competitive global gaming market.
