The Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT), the leading satellite operator in the Arab world, and Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT), one of Libya’s leading telecommunications providers, have announced the signing of a Strategic Partnership Agreement aimed at strengthening satellite communications and supporting the continued development of Libya’s digital communications infrastructure. The agreement marks a significant milestone in the relationship between the two organizations and reflects a broader push to expand connectivity across the country.

The agreement establishes a long term strategic collaboration between ARABSAT and LTT, combining ARABSAT’s advanced satellite infrastructure and extensive regional coverage with LTT’s national telecommunications expertise to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable satellite communications solutions across Libya. Under the agreement, ARABSAT will provide High Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity on its Arabsat-6A satellite, positioned at 30.5 degrees east, to support LTT’s existing and future connectivity requirements. The partnership also creates a platform for both organizations to explore further collaboration opportunities, expand service capabilities, and develop solutions tailored to the evolving needs of government, enterprise, telecommunications operators, and other critical sectors within Libya.

Dr. Badr N. Alsuwaidan, Chief Executive Officer of ARABSAT, described the agreement as a new strategic milestone in the collaboration between ARABSAT and Libya’s telecommunications sector, noting that it reflects the depth of the institutional relationship between ARABSAT and the Libyan International Telecommunications Company (LITC), one of ARABSAT’s principal shareholders. He said the agreement underscores a shared commitment to advancing the telecommunications sector and supporting Libya’s digital transformation ambitions through secure, reliable, and high performance satellite connectivity. Eng. Ammar Al-Bouzaidi, Chairman of the Board of Libya Telecom and Technology, said the partnership would help strengthen the country’s communications infrastructure, enhance service quality, and deliver reliable connectivity solutions suited to the evolving needs of LTT’s customers.

By combining ARABSAT’s satellite capabilities with LTT’s national expertise, the two organizations aim to enhance network resilience, improve service continuity, and accelerate digital transformation across Libya’s communications ecosystem. As demand for resilient, secure, and high capacity communications continues to grow across the region, satellite technology remains a critical enabler of national connectivity and business continuity. The agreement reflects a shared vision between ARABSAT and LTT to foster innovation, strengthen regional cooperation, and deliver next generation satellite communications solutions that create long term value for customers, partners, and the wider communications industry in Libya.
