As Pakistan marks its 79th Independence Day, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has launched a new campaign titled Pakistan Jitna Jawan, highlighting the company’s evolution alongside the country over nearly eight decades. The campaign draws a parallel between Pakistan’s own transformation since independence and PTCL’s journey from a traditional telecommunications institution into a technology led, integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) company.
The central idea behind the campaign is that being young is not defined by age but by the ability to adapt, evolve, and remain relevant as society and technology continue to change. The campaign film captures this idea through familiar moments drawn from different eras of Pakistani life, illustrating how lifestyles, aspirations, and modes of communication have shifted over time, from traditional businesses moving toward digital commerce, from analog to digital entertainment, and from handwritten letters to instant, always on communication.
PTCL’s own history traces back to the country’s independence, beginning in 1947 as the Post and Telegraph Department before evolving in line with Pakistan’s growing communication needs. The organisation officially became Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) in 1996, and over the following decades expanded its capabilities from basic telephony to broadband, fiber connectivity, digital services, and a wider portfolio of enterprise and ICT solutions. Today, PTCL positions itself as Pakistan’s largest integrated ICT company, operating nationwide fixed line and fiber infrastructure alongside international connectivity through submarine cable systems, with a portfolio spanning broadband, enterprise connectivity, cloud services, data centers, and managed services.
As Pakistan moves into its next phase of technological progress, PTCL said it remains focused on strengthening connectivity, advancing digital inclusion, and using technology to create meaningful impact for people across the country. The Pakistan Jitna Jawan campaign reflects the company’s continued effort to position itself not just as a legacy telecom operator but as an evolving technology partner for the country, tying its own corporate narrative to Pakistan’s broader progress since 1947.
