The Pakistan Software Export Board conducted another mentorship session under its Global Advisory and Innovation Network for registered Information Technology and Information Technology enabled Services companies, focusing on the topic of investment readiness for Pakistani technology firms. The session formed part of a continuing series of mentorship sessions the organisation has been running to connect local companies with experienced international advisors across various aspects of business growth.
The session was led by Jehangir A. Raja, Chief Executive Officer of JR Dallas Wealth Management, who brings more than thirty five years of corporate leadership experience across finance and investment. He has served as a hedge fund manager, portfolio manager, registered investment adviser, investment banker and investor over the course of his career, and holds membership in both the World Economic Forum and the Forbes Finance Council. During the session, he drew on this background to share his expertise in areas including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity placements, debt financing, business acquisitions and global investment strategy, giving participating companies exposure to perspectives typically associated with larger international markets.
Throughout the discussion, Raja offered practical guidance on how Pakistani technology companies can position themselves as investment ready by strengthening corporate governance structures, improving financial transparency and building business models capable of scaling to meet the expectations of international investors. He emphasised that aligning internal practices with global investor standards is often a prerequisite for companies seeking to move beyond domestic financing options and attract more substantial forms of capital. The session also covered strategies for attracting venture capital, private equity, institutional investment and strategic partnerships, all of which were framed as tools that could help accelerate growth and strengthen the global competitiveness of Pakistan’s technology sector.
The session was organised in coordination with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, with Henna Karamat Durrani associated with the initiative. It reflects the continued efforts of the Pakistan Software Export Board to prepare locally registered IT and ITeS companies for engagement with international capital markets, an area that has become increasingly relevant as the country’s technology exports continue to grow and companies look for ways to fund further expansion. Officials associated with the programme have indicated that similar sessions are expected to continue as part of the broader mentorship initiative, with future topics likely to address other aspects of business growth and international market access relevant to Pakistan’s IT sector.
