Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening overseas employment opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled Information and Communication Technology (ICT) workforce. The agreement was signed by Faisal Jeddy, Chief Executive Officer of PSEB, and Naseer Ahmad Kashani, Managing Director of OEC, marking a formal step toward connecting Pakistani technology professionals with international job markets.

Under the MoU, the two organisations will work toward enabling digital integration and API based interoperability between PSEB’s workforce platform and OEC’s existing overseas employment systems. This technical integration is intended to allow IT professionals, graduates, and freelancers registered on PSEB’s platform to be more directly connected with international job opportunities, streamlining what has traditionally been a more fragmented process for Pakistani tech talent seeking work abroad.

The collaboration is being positioned as an important step toward greater skills mobility, structured digital workforce development, and the broader global placement of Pakistani IT talent. By linking PSEB’s existing pool of registered professionals and freelancers with OEC’s established overseas employment infrastructure, the partnership is expected to give Pakistani ICT workers more structured and verified pathways into international job markets, rather than relying solely on informal networks or independent job searches.

Officials from both organisations described the initiative as reinforcing a broader principle that sustainable economic growth depends on continuous skill development aligned with global market needs. The MoU adds to a series of recent PSEB initiatives focused on strengthening Pakistan’s IT workforce, ranging from training programmes to skills certification efforts, with this latest agreement extending that focus specifically into the overseas employment and global placement space for the country’s growing base of IT professionals and freelancers.
