Pakistani esports team 4Thrives has sent a strong signal through the global PUBG Mobile competitive scene after dominating Group A during the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2026 Group Stage. Analysts had widely labeled Group A the “Group of Death” given the strength of the teams involved, yet 4Thrives finished comfortably on top of the standings. The squad, consisting of captain Shayan Asad, Falak Sher, Sameer Khan, Hasnain Rehman, and Muhammad Huzaifa, secured a direct spot in the Grand Finals in Paris.

What made the achievement particularly notable was how 4Thrives secured the top position. The PMWC 2026 Group Stage ran from August 6 to 9, featuring 32 elite teams split into two groups of 16, with each group playing 12 matches across two matchdays. Only the top five teams from each group advanced directly to the Grand Finals, while teams finishing sixth through thirteenth moved into a separate Survival Stage, and the bottom three faced elimination. 4Thrives finished with 107 points, building a 16 point lead over second placed India’s Orangutan, who closed the stage with 91 points.

Remarkably, 4Thrives secured their position without registering a single Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, meaning they never actually won an individual match outright. Instead, the squad focused on an aggressive playstyle built around eliminations rather than passive placement strategies, finishing with the highest Kill Points of any team in the tournament. Muhammad Huzaifa emerged as the standout performer for the squad, repeatedly breaking through enemy lines to secure key eliminations throughout the stage. Rounding out the top five in Group A were Aurora with 90 points, Team Flash with 89 points, and Nigma Galaxy with 88 points.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, formally received the 4Thrives team in Paris on August 11, praising their qualifying run and expressing confidence in their chances at the Grand Finals. The PMWC 2026 Grand Finals are scheduled to run from August 14 to 16, with 4Thrives set to compete against the world’s top PUBG Mobile teams for a share of the tournament’s 3 million dollar prize pool, continuing Pakistan’s growing presence on the global esports stage.
